DELI/GROCER/CAFE CONCEPT

Goddess + Grocer

SYNOPSIS

I chose symbolic imagery—a core of an apple for the 'goddess' herself, Debbie Sharpe—and a grocery bag to encapsulate the essence of her business, the Grocer. This design concept was born from the vibrant tapestry of delis and markets that influenced the Goddess in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. In 2005, inspired by her global adventures cooking for renowned personalities like Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, and The Rolling Stones, Debbie established her first Goddess and Grocer in the eclectic Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago.

Project Highlight

I opted to showcase the concept for Goddess and Grocer, even though it wasn't selected by the client. This experience was incredibly enlightening, offering valuable lessons that I continue to carry. Despite not being chosen, I take immense pride in the designs I crafted for this project. I believe it's important to showcase not just successes, but also what some might term as 'failures,' as they often serve as profound learning opportunities. This project is a testament to the diversity of perspectives—what might not resonate with one can still hold significant value for another. It's a reminder that the beauty of creativity lies in its subjective nature.
